Former Democratic Fundraiser Lindy Li Explains Her Departure: 'I Had No Choice But to Leave the Cult'

Created: JANUARY 25, 2025

Lindy Li, a former Democratic fundraiser and strategist, has opened up about her recent departure from the party, stating that she "had no choice but to leave the cult." Li, who worked on the Democrats' 2024 presidential campaign, told Fox News Digital that she is "the only one from the campaign telling the truth."

Li's exit follows public questioning of her campaign activities, including a now-deleted social media post where she claimed to have voted for Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania. Journalist Piers Morgan highlighted the discrepancy between this post and Li's subsequent statement that she did not vote for Harris. Li explained that as a campaign surrogate, she felt obligated to support Harris publicly through Election Day, despite personal reservations.

Li alleges that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) pushed her out after she raised concerns about the allocation of campaign funds. "I didn’t leave the DNC. They pushed me out for simply asking for accountability for how the billions of dollars were spent," she stated.

Li's disillusionment with the Democratic Party, she says, was a gradual process. She cited "open borders, woke ideology, and DEI insanity" as factors contributing to her decision. "It just contradicts everything I believe... It's just not my party anymore," she explained to Fox News Digital.

Li maintains that the DNC's response to her questions about campaign finance was to launch personal attacks rather than address the issues she raised. She is now reportedly working on fundraising for the Republican Party for the 2026 midterm elections. Fox News Digital reached out to the DNC for comment.
