Television host Drew Carey recently shared the profound impact the murder of his former fiancée, Amie Harwick, has had on his life and perspective on relationships. In a candid interview, the "Price is Right" host revealed that he thinks about Harwick daily and that her death continues to shape his views on love and intimacy.

Carey confessed that the trauma of Harwick's death, coupled with the difficult breakup they experienced, made it challenging to even look at her pictures. However, he revealed a poignant detail: Harwick had texted him the day before her death, expressing a desire to reconcile and discuss forgiveness. Carey responded with love and agreed to see her the following week. Tragically, that meeting never happened.
He learned from a friend that Harwick was deeply moved by his loving response, a testament to the lingering affection between them despite their separation. The unexpected text and the loss of the opportunity to reconnect have left Carey without closure, further complicating his grief.

Harwick's death has also affected Carey's ability to form romantic relationships. While he enjoys platonic companionship with women, he admitted that dating remains difficult. He emphasized the all-encompassing nature of his grief, stating that Harwick's death "affected everything."

Harwick, a Hollywood sex therapist, died on February 15, 2020, after being thrown from her third-floor balcony. Her ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, was subsequently convicted of her murder. Carey has stated that Pursehouse's conviction brought a sense of relief and allowed him to begin moving forward. Though the legal proceedings are over, Carey keeps Harwick's memory alive, sharing that her pictures remain in his home as a reminder of their connection.
