Early Friday morning, a watercraft accident at Naval Base Point Loma in San Diego, California, resulted in injuries to five sailors. Around 2 a.m., emergency services were alerted to the incident and dispatched medical and fire personnel to the scene.
According to reports, a vessel belonging to a U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command unit collided with Zuniga Point, a significant jetty within San Diego Bay. The unit was engaged in routine training exercises at the time of the crash.
The injured personnel include four support staff and one Navy SEAL. While two individuals were initially transported to the hospital with acute injuries, all five sailors are now reported to be in stable condition, and thankfully, none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
