The date specified in Pietila's note for the planned attack, March 15, 2024, coincides with the five-year anniversary of the Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand and the 2011 Norway attacks. Pietila's messages specifically referenced Anders Behring Breivik, the perpetrator of the Norway attacks.
